spring vacation!

finally! it's time to pack my bags and head south for a week. i couldn't be more excited! especially with local roads closed due to flooding yesterday and snow on my car this morning. so yuck! we have the pleasure of meeting up with my brother in law and his wife for the week as well. (they live in Kansas, and are also looking forward to warmer, sunnier weather for a few days).

until then... don't forget about the 3 for $20 and 3 for $22 sale going on in my shop. It is really a fab deal! 3 for $20 includes any 3 bows of your choice and a SNAP clip so you can wear any 3 bows with one clip. The 3 for $22 includes a SNAP headband, so you can wear your choice of 3 different bows/headband combo.
(**make your etsy purchase and your refund for the sale prices will be issued on Monday, 3/21)

once i get home i've got over 40 bows to finish (see above image) and lots of headbands to restock (some new colors, too!). I figure if i keep on spring accessorizing, spring will get the hint and come soon after, right? ;)

DIY: valentine garland

to: you
from: kayt taylor
enjoy!

what you need:
-paper (65" garland required 10 sheets)
-string/yarn/twine of your choice
-hole puncher
-glue stick
-scissors
-circle cutting 'guide'

how to:
A. Select your paper, i used 6 different prints. (1-3 pieces of each; more of the ones on clearance and less of the full price sheets)

B. Decide the size of your circles and find something as a cutting guide. My circles are just under 3" each.

C. Cut as many circles in each paper as you can. Each garland circle requires 4 individual circles. I cut 80 circles total.

D. Create your garland pieces. See image below for an easy step-by-step guide:

1. Gather 4 circles
2. Fold each circle in half
3. Apply glue to one half of folded circle, and join with another folded half-circle (the glue should be applied to the back of the print)
4. Apply glue to the back of one of your now connected circles and add the next piece.
5. Repeat with next piece.
6. Now that all of your pieces are connected, you should only have two half-circles left unglued. Glue those together to create one full garland piece.

E. Lay out your garland pieces in the desired pattern (optional)

F. Punch two holes in each garland piece for twine to pass through

G. String your garland pieces and space apart however you'd like

H. Place somewhere for everyone to see and enjoy!!

**I used the scrap pieces with an 11x14" frame and coordinating jars to create an entire display for our entry table. The frame and jars only took about 15 minutes total. I wanted to make sure I got the biggest bang for my buck on those printed papers.
